Thou art the rulers of the minds of allpeople,
dispenser of India's destiny.
Thy name rouses the hearts ofPunjab,Sind, Gujarat and Maratha,
Of the Dravida and Orissa andBengal;
It echoes in the hills of the Vindhyasand Himalayas,
mingles in the music of Yamuna andGanga
and is chanted by the waves of the Indian Sea.
They pray for thy blessings and singthy praise.
The saving of all people waits in thyhand,thou dispenser of India's destiny,
Victory, victory, victory to thee.

The following document gives you an idea of the birth of our national anthem "Jana Gana Mana".

It very clearly exposes the roots of this anthem and its irrelevance in today's context.
The national anthem (Jana Gana Mana) is also one of Nehru's shortsighted ideas and it exposes his intentions of having this as the national anthem.
It is high time all of us realised that it is Vande Matram that should appropriately be sung as part of national anthem.
Interesting! I will not be surprised if after some research, it turns out to be true. I have always wondered who is the "adhinayak" and "bharat bhagya vidhata", whose praise we are singing. I thought may be God!
Our current National Anthem "Jana Gana Mana" is sung throughout the country.
Did you know the following about our national anthem, i didn't.
This is actually very surprising but common that most of us have never paid heed to actually understand it truly.
